The Cottage



The property is a traditional, characterful lead miners cottage (please see gallery for photos) and sleeps up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms.

Inside

Ground Floor

Living/Dining room

A spacious open plan sitting/dining room with beamed ceiling, window seat and beautiful log burner set in stone fireplace. The room is well furnished with oak furniture including extendable dining table, bookcase housing books, maps, games and a selection of DVDs. There is spacious sofa seating. The room is heated by two wall mounted panel electric heaters and the log burner. The room has two doors - one to the front garden, the other to the kitchen. There is a partly open staircase with turned balustrade up to the first floor.



Facilities: 32" LED HD Smart TV (Netflix, Prime etc) Free-sat HD, DVD player, Broadband WiFi, Bluetooth Speaker.



Kitchen

The kitchen is very well equipped and has beautiful views up the Ghyll. There is a useful pantry at the end of the kitchen and this houses the iron, ironing board, vacuum cleaner etc. The room is heated by a wall mounted panel electric heater. There are two doors - one to the front garden, the other to the sitting/dining room.

Facilities: Lavazza Expresso Maker (with complimentary pods), Dishwasher, Microwave, Gas hob & electric oven/grill with overhead extractor, Fridge, Toaster, Kettle.

First Floor

Small landing with Airing cupboard leading to:

Double bedroom.

Positioned to the front of the house, this delightful bedroom is furnished in oak with a double wardrobe, a wellington size chest of drawers and a king size Victorian style bedstead. The room is heated by a wall mounted panel electric heater.

Twin bedroom.

Positioned at the rear of the house, this room has two 3ft single beds, a bedside cabinet and sizeable built-in wardrobe with clothes storage hanging unit and hangers. The room is heated by a wall mounted panel electric heater.

Bathroom.

The partly tiled modern bathroom has a lovely view up the Ghyll. The bathroom has victorian style basin and wc. The bathroom has a shower screen and electric shower ( thermostatic model so no change of temperature when someone turns a tap on!) together with a bath. The bathroom is heated by an electric towel rail. There is a bathroom cabinet and a mirror with light/shaving point over the basin.

 

Water for the property is heated by electric immersion.

Outside

There is a pretty cottage garden with table and seating for four.

Utility

This outbuilding is in the front garden close to the kitchen door. The utility houses the tumble dryer, washing machine, freezer, clothes rotary airer, and high chair if requested ahead of visit. It can also be use to store boots and fishing tackle etc.



Secure Bike Store

This outbuilding is for bike storage (2-3 bikes)



Parking

You are able to park to unload/load directly on the lane outside the cottage. The parking space in front of our cottage is owned and used by our neighbours.However, there is plenty of parking available within a very short walk (2 mins) either on a quiet lane (leading to high green) on the other side of the brook to the cottage or on Hebden village main street (very wide). It's generally very quiet and we have had no problems​.

Smoking is not permitted in the cottage or it 's outbuilding. Thank you.

We care greatly about safety. There are fire, heat and carbon monoxide alarms throughout the property. There is also a fire extinguisher and fire blanket in the kitchen. When arriving at the cottage please read all safety information provided.
